How did you start in the design business?

“I moved here from California after graduating college and was hired as a Visual Designer with Ashley Furniture, and I have been in retail design ever since.”

How has your experience been at B.F. Myers?

“The experience has been great, and I really love being able to shift between Visual Design and Interior Design.”

What is your favorite project you have worked on?

“That’s hard; I’m not sure I have a favorite. I have worked on some commercial spaces that turned out beautiful (a café at a church and a Christian music management company, both in Hendersonville) and have worked on some whole home projects for some really fantastic people. Whenever I connect with a client, it makes the design experience and process so enjoyable for everyone.”

What is your process for understanding a client’s needs and preferences?

“It’s all about asking the right questions and asking a lot of questions. I discuss color, how many people they expect to accommodate, if we need to consider pets or children, whether they prefer fabric or leather, motion or stationary, etc. The questions will vary depending on what room I’m designing, but the more questions I ask, the easier it is to create beautiful spaces.”

What are the current design trends that excite you right now?

“Warmer tones, natural woods, and color! I see more and more clients wanting to move away from the cooler, gray tones, and I

couldn’t be happier!”

Where do you get your design inspiration?

“When it comes to designing someone’s home, I am mostly inspired by the client. Everyone is different, and every space is unique. For example, I draw inspiration from antique pieces they are keeping, a painting they want to design around, or a beautiful view. That’s why I find it so important to visit the space myself. Additionally, attending the accessory market in Atlanta is visually inspiring. The market is always impactful, and I leave with a wealth of ideas!”

What is your favorite part of working at B.F. Myers?

“I love that no day is the same, and every project is different; it certainly keeps it exciting! The people are really great too.”
